Moran State Park, Orcas Island
Washington

This summer found us camping on Orcas Island at Moran State Park. This beautiful sanctuary created in 1921 is filled with old-growth trees and sparkling lakes. The view from high a top Mt Constitution, the highest point in the San Juan Islands, was spectacular. We spent one day hiking along a lake weaving in and out of the forest enjoying the serene quiet of the scenery before us. A good book and warmth of the campfire made for perfect evenings.

The beautiful weather for our ferry ride and trip made this a must-return adventure for us.
