April Snow Shoe on Mt Hood

By the end of March the mountain was more that 120% of average in snow fall. This Friday brought us up for what may be our last snow shoe of the season. More than 18" had fallen on the trail in the past three days.

As we began there was only a faint hint of tracks from a snow mobile vaguely visible in the snow covered with last night's new snow and not a soul in sight. With in and out sunbreaks mixed with light snow showers, you couldn't have ordered up a more perfect day.

Notice the picture of the sign. This is the same sign that Tyree & Lily stopped for snacks on our last trip.
